Sharafuddin Ashraf delivered a brilliant final over as the Vista Riders defended 84/9 to clinch a tense six-run victory over the Aspen Stallions in a low-scoring thriller at the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 on Friday. In the day’s second match, the UAE Bulls survived a late assault from Aaron Jones and Chris Jordan to secure a four-run win against the Royal Champs.

Batting first, the Riders struggled for momentum after losing Faf du Plessis and Ben McDermott early in the power play. Chand’s dismissal at 42/5 further deepened the collapse, before Dwaine Pretorius (29 off 12) lifted the total to 84/9 with a late counterattack. The Stallions’ bowlers dominated throughout, led by Ashmead Nedd (2/8) and Binura Fernando (2/15).

The Stallions’ chase faltered immediately, crashing to 4/3 with Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Avishka Fernando, and Andre Fletcher dismissed inside the first eight balls. Sreesanth and Andrew Tye triggered the early damage, but Ben Cutting’s 35 off 19 revived hopes, supported by Leus du Plooy (14 off 13). With 17 required from the final over, Ashraf held his nerve, contributing to a run-out, then removing Zohair Iqbal before restricting scoring to singles as Vista completed a dramatic defence.

Bulls withstand late surge to defeat Royal Champs

Earlier, the UAE Bulls edged the Royal Champs by four runs after defending a target of 124. The Champs slipped early when Jason Roy fell lbw to Muhammad Rohid, and despite quick runs from Niroshan Dickwella (19 off 14) and Brandon McMullen (19 off 10), wickets in clusters stalled momentum.

Junaid Siddique’s double-strike, removing Quentin Sampson and Daniel Sams in consecutive balls, left the Champs reeling at 64/5, forcing Aaron Jones (37 off 14) and Chris Jordan (33 off 11) into rescue mode. The pair smashed 52 runs in a late surge that kept the contest alive heading into the last over.

Requiring 27 off six, Jones and Jordan struck 23 in a spirited finish, but the Bulls held on to secure their second win of the campaign.

The Northern Warriors registered a confident six-wicket victory over the Deccan Gladiators in the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 on Friday, successfully chasing 88 with 10 balls to spare to move back into contention after a slow start to their campaign.

Batting first, the Gladiators were rocked early as Trent Boult removed Nicholas Pooran and David Wiese off consecutive deliveries in the opening over. Tom Kohler-Cadmore (58 off 31) anchored the innings with a composed half-century, striking seven boundaries and two sixes, but regular wickets at the other end stalled progress.

Marcus Stoinis threatened to build a partnership before Boult pulled off a sharp one-handed catch off Shahid Bhutta, halting momentum. The Gladiators closed on 87/7, with Kohler-Cadmore launching two late sixes before falling in the final over.

In reply, the Warriors made a dominant start through Johnson Charles, whose 41 off 17 balls—featuring four fours and three sixes- powered them to 43/0 in two overs. Noor Ahmad dismissed Charles, and Muhammad Jawadullah’s double-strike removed Hazratullah Zazai and Shimron Hetmyer to tighten the contest at 60/3.

Although Noor Ahmad bowled Dinesh Chandimal soon after, the modest target remained within reach, and Thisara Perera and Azmatullah Omarzai guided the Warriors home, with Omarzai finishing the chase in 8.2 overs.

Amir four-for headlines Qavalry’s strong comeback after Bulls’ blistering start

In the day’s second match, a late bowling surge led by Mohammad Amir sparked a dramatic turnaround as Quetta Qavalry restricted the UAE Bulls to 109 after an explosive powerplay start.

The Bulls lost Tom Moores early, but Phil Salt (31 off 15) counter-attacked, striking four boundaries and a six to accelerate the innings to 26/1 after two overs. Rovman Powell (23 off 14) continued the charge alongside Tim David (31 off 11), lifting the Bulls to 93/3 after seven overs and setting up a platform for a large total.

But Amir flipped the contest, dismissing Kieron Pollard, Tim David and Iftikhar Ahmed in a pivotal spell to complete a four-wicket haul. At the same time, Khuzaima Tanveer added two run-outs and a bowled dismissal to shut down scoring at the death.

Despite early momentum, the Bulls managed just 16 runs from the final three overs, ending at 109 all out, leaving the match finely poised for the chase to follow.

The Quetta Qavalry maintained their unbeaten run in the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 with a thrilling one-run win over the Deccan Gladiators in a top-of-the-table clash on Thursday.

Batting first, Quetta posted 112/3, powered by a rapid 39 off 14 balls from Khawaja Nafay, supported by Evin Lewis (20 off 9) and Liam Livingstone (20 off 12). Despite disciplined bowling spells from Noor Ahmad (1/9) and Jordan Thompson (0/12), the Qavalry’s late acceleration ensured a competitive total.

In reply, Deccan lost Nicholas Pooran early, but Tom Kohler-Cadmore (15 off 9) and David Wiese (32 off 15) rebuilt the innings before wickets from Abbas Afridi, Muhammad Jawadullah and Khawaja Nafay swung momentum back to Quetta.

A powerful unbeaten 39 off 19 from Marcus Stoinis kept the Gladiators in contention, but Khuzaima Tanveer’s three-run penultimate over left Deccan needing 22 from the final six balls. Stoinis cleared the ropes twice to bring the equation down, but Afridi held his nerve with the final delivery, sealing a dramatic win and extending Qavalry’s perfect start to the tournament.

Titans fall 15 runs short in chase against Aspin Stallions

In the day’s earlier fixture, the Aspin Stallions defeated the Ajman Titans by 15 runs after restricting them to 104/6 in pursuit of 120.

The Titans began aggressively through Rahmanullah Gurbaz (23 off 6), but lost momentum after his dismissal at 29/1. Akif Javed (2/11) removed Avishka Fernando (18 off 11) as the required rate climbed steadily.

The Stallions tightened control through Chris Green, who delivered an outstanding spell of 2/9, removing Leus du Plooy and Harbhajan Singh to leave the chase in disarray at 118/6. Sam Billings (13 off 9) attempted to stabilise the innings, but only six runs came from the final over, ending any chance of a late recovery.

The Stallions’ disciplined middle-overs bowling proved decisive in securing a comfortable victory.
