If you’re heading out today, don’t forget your umbrella, or be prepared to get soaked. The UAE is experiencing scattered rain, thunder, and lightning, with light to moderate showers throughout the day.
According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), rain was recorded in several areas, including Ghantoot, Al Smeeh, Dalma Island, and parts of Ras Al Khaimah like Ghalilah, Shaam, and Al Rams.
Dubai also saw light rains in places like Deira, Al Aweer, and Palm Jumeirah, while Ajman, Sharjah (Al Dhaid), Umm Al Quwain, and Al Dhafra had light to moderate showers.
A video clip shared by storm_uae earlier this morning showed rain, lightning, and thunder along the UAE coast.
Throughout the day, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy, with more rain expected, especially along the coast and the western areas.
Temperatures will range from 32–37°C inland, 28–32°C in coastal areas, and 25–29°C in the mountains.
Winds will be light to moderate but may get stronger, causing some dust. Gusts could reach 40 km/hr, especially from the southeast to northeast. The Arabian Gulf will have rough seas with waves up to 6 feet high until 11 am, while the Oman Sea will stay calm.
As always, motorists are advised to drive with caution and not to speed on wet roads.
