Heavy rain fell across scattered parts of the UAE on Friday, leading to flowing valleys and significant water accumulation in low-lying areas, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The NCM said the unsettled conditions are expected to continue for up to three days, driven by the extension of a surface low-pressure system accompanied by an upper atmospheric low-pressure system.
On Friday, the lowest temperature dropped to 8.5°C, while maximum temperatures ranged between 25°C and 30°C. Minimum temperatures were recorded between 11°C and 17°C across the country.
Saturday’s forecast indicates partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy skies, with the formation of cumulonimbus clouds that may bring rainfall to coastal, northern and eastern regions. Winds will be northwesterly to southwesterly, moderate to active at times, and occasionally strong enough to raise dust, with speeds reaching up to 50 km/h. Sea conditions are expected to be rough in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
On Sunday, weather conditions will remain generally partly cloudy, with low clouds forming over islands and some coastal and western areas. There is still a chance of rain, while humidity is expected to increase at night and into Monday morning in some western inland areas. Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, occasionally active, with speeds of up to 35 km/h, and seas ranging from rough to moderate.
Monday’s weather will be partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy, with clouds appearing over islands and western regions. Humidity will persist overnight and into Tuesday morning in some inland areas. Winds will shift from northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed, becoming active at times, while sea conditions ease to light to moderate.
Tuesday is forecast to be similar, with partly cloudy skies and occasional cloud cover over islands and western areas. Humid conditions are expected overnight into Wednesday morning, with light to moderate winds and calmer seas in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Authorities continue to urge residents to remain cautious, particularly when travelling, as changing weather conditions may impact road safety and visibility.
