The UAE has unveiled a world-first consular package for its Golden Visa holders abroad, promising faster support in emergencies, including issuing return documents in 30 minutes, a dedicated 24/7 hotline and repatriation services, officials said on Tuesday.
Announced by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the new service was launched at GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai.
According to Shama Al Dhaheri, SDO specialist at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the package is designed to ensure “continuous care and support for residents holding the Golden Visa while they are abroad.”
The flagship feature is the 30-minute emergency return document, which enables Golden Visa holders to re-enter the UAE swiftly if their passport is lost or damaged during travel.
“We issue this document within 30 minutes,” Al Dhaheri said. “It can be accessed through our website or mobile app, eliminating the need for lengthy embassy visits.”
In addition, a 24/7 crisis hotline will operate exclusively for Golden Visa holders, providing real-time assistance for emergencies, crises, or evacuation needs anywhere in the world.
The ministry will also extend support in the event of a death abroad, assisting families with repatriation or burial arrangements and coordinating final rites within the UAE.
Officials confirmed that the rollout for the new package begins immediately, with more details — including eligibility criteria and app integration, to be shared through official UAE government channels in the coming weeks.
With this initiative, the UAE strengthens its position as a global leader in resident welfare, ensuring that its long-term visa holders receive continued protection and seamless access to home, no matter where they are in the world.
