Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is rolling out four new public bus routes from January 9, alongside improvements to more than 70 existing routes, making it easier for commuters to get around the city during peak hours.

The updates are part of RTA’s ongoing efforts to improve public transport efficiency, reduce waiting times and deliver a smoother daily commute for residents across Dubai.

Four new bus routes launching

The newly introduced routes are designed to support busy corridors during rush hours:

  • Route 88A: From Al Satwa Bus Station to Jumeirah 3 (morning peak)
  • Route 88B: From Jumeirah 3 to Al Satwa Bus Station (evening peak)
  • Route 93A: From Al Satwa Bus Station to Al Wasl (morning peak)
  • Route 93B: From Al Wasl to Al Satwa Bus Station (evening peak)

These routes aim to ease congestion and improve service reliability during high-demand periods.

Major upgrades to existing routes

Alongside the new launches, RTA is updating dozens of routes through timetable adjustments, extended services, stop additions and cancellations, and route realignments.

Some notable changes include:

  • New bus stops added near key locations such as Museum of the Future, Dubai People of Determination Center, Dubai Hills, Oud Al Muteena, Dubai Outsource City and Dubai World Central
  • Extended services in areas including International City, Al Muhaisnah, JAFZA, and Dubai South
  • Cancelled or relocated stops to improve traffic flow and operational efficiency, including at Emirates Towers, Shatha Tower, Dubai Academic City, and Max Metro Station

Routes E100 and E201 will now operate from Al Jafiliya Bus Station instead of Max Metro Station, helping streamline intercity travel.

Better commutes, less waiting

According to RTA, these updates will:

  • Reduce waiting times
  • Improve peak-hour reliability
  • Expand coverage to fast-growing residential and commercial areas
  • Enhance the overall passenger experience

Commuters are encouraged to check updated routes, stops and schedules using the S’hail App.
