Dubai’s public transport network is getting a major upgrade. On December 14, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) officially unveiled the route map for the upcoming Dubai Metro Blue Line, giving residents their first proper look at what’s coming.
Shared via a video post on X, the RTA revealed that the new line will span a total of 30km, with 14.5km above ground and 15.5km underground, significantly enhancing connectivity across the city.
What to expect from the Blue Line
- 14 stations (both elevated and underground)
- Daily capacity of over 320,000 passengers
- Designed to ease congestion and improve city-wide mobility
- Set to launch in 2029, marking 20 years of the Dubai Metro
According to the RTA, the project will “enhance the integration of Dubai Metro’s network, elevate quality of life, and improve daily mobility across the city.”
In short: faster journeys, better links, and a smoother commute.
