Residents of Discovery Gardens will soon need to factor parking into their daily routine, with paid parking set to roll out across the community from January 2026.
Dubai Holding Community Management has confirmed that regulated parking will begin on Thursday, January 15, 2026, with operations handled by parking provider Parkonic. Installation of new parking zone signs is already underway across the neighbourhood.
How the new parking system will work
The updated parking rules aim to better manage shared parking, especially in buildings without dedicated parking spaces.
Here’s what residents need to know:
- Each eligible residential unit will receive one free parking permit
- Households with more than one vehicle will need to purchase a paid subscription for additional cars
- Permits are linked to registered residential units, not individual drivers
When and how to apply
To avoid fines once enforcement starts, residents are being urged to apply early.
- Residential permit applications opened: December 24, 2025
- Where to apply: Parkonic tenant registration portal
- Paid subscriptions available from: January 9, 2026 (via Parkonic website or app)
Don’t wait until enforcement begins
Once the system goes live, vehicles parked without a valid permit or subscription may be fined.
According to community management, the move is aimed at improving parking availability, accessibility and safety, while reducing congestion caused by unmanaged parking across Discovery Gardens.
