Now, take safer rides with kids. ‘Hala Juniors’ is here

Published

Riding with kids just got easier and safer. Welcome to ‘Hala Juniors’.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Careem launched ‘Hala Juniors’, a new option on the Careem app, under their joint venture ‘Hala’.

It has been started keeping in mind the safety of the kids and the comfort of their parents during a ride.
‘Hala Juniors’ lets you book a ride in a car which is installed with child car seats by Mothercare. The seats are installed with industry standard comfort.

They have a five-point harness, cushioning for newborn and four reclining configuration for better comfort. The captains of ‘Hala Juniors’ rides are trained on how to install the child car seat.

The cars are thoroughly sanitised after each ride and cleaned by Champion Cleaners regularly.
To cap it all, a ‘Hala Juniors’ ride will cost you only Dh5 more than the usual Hala rides. Careem has started this initiative with a fleet of 150 cars.

“We are extremely excited about launching ‘Hala Juniors’ in Dubai to welcome children onboard,” said Basil Hovakeemian, CEO for Hala.

Richard Robinson, business director at Mothercare, said: “Children are at the centre of all we do at Mothercare; child safety is imperative and we are delighted to partner with Hala to provide travel safety solutions for parents on the go.”

Published

on

As the crescent moon prepares to grace the skies, UAE residents eagerly anticipate the year’s first long holiday — Eid Al Fitr 2025. With up to five days off, this much-awaited break promises the perfect opportunity for travel, relaxation, and cultural experiences.

Countdown to Eid

Eid Al Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, falls on the first of Shawwal in the Islamic calendar. The exact dates depend on the sighting of the moon. The UAE’s moon-sighting committee will meet on Saturday, March 29, to determine whether Ramadan will last 29 or 30 days.

If the crescent moon is sighted, Eid festivities will begin on Sunday, March 30, and residents will enjoy a four-day break. However, astronomical predictions hint at a longer Ramadan this year, extending to 30 days. In that case, the UAE will enjoy a generous five-day break from Saturday, March 29, to Wednesday, April 2..

Travel Beyond the Usual Getaways

With the extended holiday in sight, travel agencies are witnessing a surge in demand for family-oriented and experience-based trips. More travellers are swapping conventional vacations for immersive adventures, seeking cultural, nature-inspired, and adrenaline-filled escapes.

Top destinations include the stunning landscapes of the Caucasus and Balkans, while some are opting for east European destinations like Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan due to their visa-on-arrival and e-visa facilities.

For those craving sun-kissed retreats, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Cyprus, and Greece are emerging as top picks. These Mediterranean hot spots offer a captivating mix of history, world-class cuisine, and pristine beaches, making them perfect for an unforgettable Eid getaway.

Meanwhile, Southeast Asia continues to attract travellers with its tropical allure, while African destinations are popular for their wildlife safaris and exotic landscapes.

Planning Ahead

For travellers eyeing destinations with visa requirements, now is the time to plan and secure necessary travel documents. With demand soaring, travel experts recommend booking flights and accommodations early to secure the best deals.

Whether it’s a serene retreat in the mountains, a cultural escape in a historic city, or a sun-drenched beach getaway, Eid Al Fitr 2025 is shaping up to be a fun time for UAE travellers.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced the ‘Takamul Permit’ — a groundbreaking new initiative that is aimed at integrating luxury car services with the car rental industry. Whether you’re a resident, tourist, or businessman, Dubai is making it easier than ever to experience its luxurious lifestyle.

What’s the Big Deal?
With this permit, limousine transport companies and car rental firms can team up like never before, offering customers the chance to rent high-end rides with chauffeurs for up to one month. That means effortless access to elite, chauffeur-driven experiences—all under RTA’s top-tier regulations.

The Rules of the Road
Jamal Al Sadah, Director of Commercial Transport Activities at RTA, revealed that the initiative ensures smooth operations and compliance. Companies must follow strict regulations, including registering rental contracts and listing drivers on the Transport Activities Rental System (TARS).

Why It Matters?
Dubai is already known for its luxury offerings, and this move solidifies its position in premium transport solutions. Whether you’re heading to a business meeting, a five-star hotel, or a VIP event, Takamul Permit has got you covered.

Dubai’s luxury real estate market has hit another milestone with the record-breaking sale of a custom-built six-bedroom villa on Jumeirah Bay Island for Dh330 million. The transaction, facilitated by Dubai Sotheby’s International Realty, marks the highest-ever price for a home on the exclusive island, surpassing the previous record of Dh240.5 million.

Often dubbed ‘Billionaire’s Island,’ Jumeirah Bay is an ultra-exclusive enclave featuring just 128 plots, attracting elite buyers seeking privacy, rarity, and an unparalleled waterfront lifestyle. The recently sold villa occupies one of only three plots at the island’s tip and is the only one offering uninterrupted views of the Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai skyline.

Spanning 26,895 square feet, the villa is a masterpiece of design, encased in full-height glass walls and boasting soaring 13-metre-high ceilings. The residence is crafted with exquisite materials, including Taj Mahal Quartzite, Patagonian marble, and walnut wood veneer, exuding sophistication at every turn. A beachfront infinity pool and a private stretch of pristine white-sand beach further enhance its exclusivity.

Dubai Sotheby’s International Realty associate directors Regan Faulkner and Ioana Armeanu represented the seller in the landmark transaction.

“AED 330 million is more than just a figure—it’s a statement,” said George Azar, CEO and chairman of Dubai Sotheby’s International Realty. “The demand for properties of this caliber marks a shift where provenance and exclusivity hold more value than ever.”

This historic sale cements Jumeirah Bay Island’s status as a premier destination for ultra-luxury real estate, further driving demand for its limited and highly coveted properties.
