Eid Al Fitr holidays: UAE residents set for long break and exciting travel adventures

Published

on

As the crescent moon prepares to grace the skies, UAE residents eagerly anticipate the year’s first long holiday — Eid Al Fitr 2025. With up to five days off, this much-awaited break promises the perfect opportunity for travel, relaxation, and cultural experiences.

Countdown to Eid

Eid Al Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, falls on the first of Shawwal in the Islamic calendar. The exact dates depend on the sighting of the moon. The UAE’s moon-sighting committee will meet on Saturday, March 29, to determine whether Ramadan will last 29 or 30 days.

If the crescent moon is sighted, Eid festivities will begin on Sunday, March 30, and residents will enjoy a four-day break. However, astronomical predictions hint at a longer Ramadan this year, extending to 30 days. In that case, the UAE will enjoy a generous five-day break from Saturday, March 29, to Wednesday, April 2..

Travel Beyond the Usual Getaways

With the extended holiday in sight, travel agencies are witnessing a surge in demand for family-oriented and experience-based trips. More travellers are swapping conventional vacations for immersive adventures, seeking cultural, nature-inspired, and adrenaline-filled escapes.

Top destinations include the stunning landscapes of the Caucasus and Balkans, while some are opting for east European destinations like Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan due to their visa-on-arrival and e-visa facilities.

For those craving sun-kissed retreats, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Cyprus, and Greece are emerging as top picks. These Mediterranean hot spots offer a captivating mix of history, world-class cuisine, and pristine beaches, making them perfect for an unforgettable Eid getaway.

Meanwhile, Southeast Asia continues to attract travellers with its tropical allure, while African destinations are popular for their wildlife safaris and exotic landscapes.

Planning Ahead

For travellers eyeing destinations with visa requirements, now is the time to plan and secure necessary travel documents. With demand soaring, travel experts recommend booking flights and accommodations early to secure the best deals.

Whether it’s a serene retreat in the mountains, a cultural escape in a historic city, or a sun-drenched beach getaway, Eid Al Fitr 2025 is shaping up to be a fun time for UAE travellers.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced the ‘Takamul Permit’ — a groundbreaking new initiative that is aimed at integrating luxury car services with the car rental industry. Whether you’re a resident, tourist, or businessman, Dubai is making it easier than ever to experience its luxurious lifestyle.

What’s the Big Deal?
With this permit, limousine transport companies and car rental firms can team up like never before, offering customers the chance to rent high-end rides with chauffeurs for up to one month. That means effortless access to elite, chauffeur-driven experiences—all under RTA’s top-tier regulations.

The Rules of the Road
Jamal Al Sadah, Director of Commercial Transport Activities at RTA, revealed that the initiative ensures smooth operations and compliance. Companies must follow strict regulations, including registering rental contracts and listing drivers on the Transport Activities Rental System (TARS).

Why It Matters?
Dubai is already known for its luxury offerings, and this move solidifies its position in premium transport solutions. Whether you’re heading to a business meeting, a five-star hotel, or a VIP event, Takamul Permit has got you covered.

Emirates, flydubai add new destinations as air travel demand surges

Published

on

Dubai-based carrier Emirates is set to bolster its presence in Asia with the launch of daily non-stop flights to Shenzhen from July 1, 2025. Additionally, the airline will introduce four weekly flights to Da Nang, Vietnam (from June 2), and three weekly flights to Siem Reap, Cambodia (from June 3), both operating via Bangkok.

This expansion move is particularly significant for trade and tourism, with Shenzhen serving as China’s technology and innovation hub, Da Nang emerging as a fast-growing leisure and business destination, and Siem Reap attracting visitors to the famed Angkor Wat temple complex.

The addition of Shenzhen also marks Emirates’ fourth gateway into mainland China. Similarly, Da Nang and Siem Reap represent key growth markets in Southeast Asia, where rising disposable incomes and increasing international business ties are driving demand for premium air travel.

flydubai Expands Footprint

Meanwhile, Emirates’ sister airline, flydubai, is also accelerating its growth strategy with the launch of three new routes to Iran. Flights to Bushehr and Tabriz will commence on March 13, followed by Qeshm on March 14.

Additionally, flydubai is adding Al Alamein (Egypt) and Antalya (Turkey) as seasonal summer destinations, catering to leisure travellers between June and September. With a focus on affordability and connectivity, flydubai continues to offer passengers ideal travel options.

As international travel demand continues to surge, these strategic expansions position Emirates and flydubai to capture new markets, drive tourism and business travel, and enhance economic ties with key Asian and Middle Eastern regions.
