Britain’s top-ranked tennis star Jack Draper has pulled out of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, opting to prioritise recovery after a gruelling week at the Qatar Open.
Draper, 23, announced a day after his hard-fought three-set final loss to Andrey Rublev in Doha. The rising star, who is set to reach a career-high world No. 12, emphasised the need to manage his schedule for long-term consistency.
“I’m taking advice to prioritise my recovery and manage my body after several long matches. “I’m gutted to miss such an amazing event but look forward to returning for the BNP Paribas Open and Miami Open next month,” Draper wrote on X.
The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships kicks off on Monday, it features a stellar lineup of top-ranked players competing for the prestigious ATP 500 title.

The 2025 DDF Championship will be held from 24 February 24 – March 1. The outdoor hard-court will be held at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium in Al Garhoud.
