The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) has updated the conditions for visiting friends and relatives in the UAE, reflecting the authority’s commitment to meeting residents’ needs while ensuring community security and economic stability.
New Host Income Requirements
Under the updated rules:
- First-degree relatives: The host’s monthly income must be at least Dh4,000
- Second- or third-degree relatives: The host’s monthly income must be at least Dh8,000
- Friends of residents: The host’s monthly income must be at least Dh15,000
These requirements ensure that visitors have a responsible guarantor or host during their stay in the UAE.
Reasoning Behind the Changes
Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of ICP, explained that the updates are based on careful studies, feedback from residents, and ongoing service evaluations. The aim is to balance humanitarian considerations with economic responsibility, supporting both residents and visitors.
“These updates are designed to make hosting friends and relatives smoother, while maintaining security and supporting the UAE’s economic and social goals,” said Major General Al Khaili.
