The UAE is expected to experience relatively unstable weather conditions from Wednesday until March 15, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The forecast indicates chances of rainfall over some areas at the start of the period, particularly in western and coastal regions. The conditions will also be accompanied by active winds that may raise dust and sand, along with a gradual drop in temperatures.

The weather is expected to stabilise towards the end of the week, with a slight rise in temperatures.

Wednesday

The NCM said Wednesday’s weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy and dusty at times, with chances of rainfall over some western and coastal areas. Temperatures are expected to gradually decrease.

Winds will be northeasterly, fresh to strong at times, causing blowing dust and sand. Wind speeds will range between 15 and 30 km/h, reaching up to 50 km/h at times before becoming moderate to light by the afternoon.

The sea will be rough, becoming moderate to slight by the afternoon in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Thursday

On Thursday, humid conditions are expected in the morning over some internal areas, with a probability of light fog formation westward.

The weather will become partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with continued chances of rainfall across scattered areas.

Winds will be northeasterly, light to moderate and freshening at times, with speeds between 15 and 25 km/h and reaching up to 35 km/h. The sea will be moderate to slight in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.

Friday

Humid conditions are expected to continue on Friday, with a probability of light fog formation during the morning over some western areas.

The weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with chances of light rainfall over some western, coastal and island areas during the daytime. Temperatures are expected to rise slightly.

Winds will be northeasterly, light to moderate and freshening at times, with speeds ranging from 15 to 25 km/h and reaching up to 35 km/h.

Weekend outlook

On Saturday, humid conditions will persist with a probability of fog or mist formation in the morning over some coastal areas. The weather will become fair to partly cloudy during the day.

On Sunday, humid conditions will continue with a chance of mist formation in the morning over some coastal areas, while the weather will remain fair to partly cloudy with a rise in temperatures.

Winds on both days will be northeasterly, light to moderate, ranging from 10 to 20 km/h and reaching up to 30 km/h. The sea will remain slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

UAE braces for foggy mornings and possible rains this weekend as weather patterns shift

Residents across the UAE can expect a mix of calm skies, foggy mornings, and potential rainfall over the coming days, as shifting weather systems begin to influence the region.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), an interaction between a surface low-pressure system from the east, a high-pressure ridge from the west, and an upper-air low is setting the stage for variable conditions.

Today’s weather will remain largely fair to partly cloudy, offering a relatively pleasant break with slightly cooler temperatures. However, as night falls, humidity levels are expected to rise, increasing the likelihood of fog or mist, particularly in inland areas by early Friday morning.

Moving into the weekend, conditions will stay partly cloudy, but mornings may begin with reduced visibility due to persistent fog and mist. Temperatures are also forecast to climb gradually, signalling a return to warmer conditions. By Saturday and Sunday, cloud cover is expected to increase, bringing a chance of light rainfall, especially in coastal and northern regions.

The most noticeable shift is expected on Monday, when light to moderate rain could extend across coastal, northern, and eastern parts of the country. Winds are also likely to pick up, occasionally becoming fresh and causing blowing dust, while sea conditions may turn moderate to rough at times.

For residents, this means staying cautious during early morning commutes due to fog, preparing for occasional dusty conditions, and keeping an eye on the skies as the chances of rain increase.

As the UAE transitions through these changing conditions, the coming days promise a dynamic mix of weather, offering everything from misty mornings to potential showers.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has announced the resumption of several major bus routes following temporary suspensions caused by heavy rainfall and unstable weather conditions across the UAE.

The authority confirmed that services are now operating again, allowing passengers to travel safely and more smoothly, although minor delays may still occur as operations gradually return to full capacity.

Several key routes have resumed, including:

  • E315 between Etisalat Bus Station and Muwaileh (Sharjah)
  • E101 to Abu Dhabi, now operating from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station instead of Ibn Battuta Bus Station due to earlier waterlogging
  • E411 service to Ajman from Etisalat Bus Station
  • Route 201 from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station to Al Ain

The service restoration comes after disruptions triggered by adverse weather, which led to the temporary suspension of multiple bus routes to ensure passenger safety.

RTA said all necessary safety and operational measures are in place to support a smooth return to normal services.

Advice for commuters

Passengers are encouraged to:

  • Allow extra travel time
  • Check updates through official RTA channels
  • Follow safety guidelines while commuting

Authorities added that services will continue to stabilise over the coming days as conditions improve.

UAE to see moderate rain and strong winds this week

The UAE is set to experience weak weather conditions this week, linked to a low-pressure trough moving across the country, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Cloud cover is expected to build from early Tuesday and continue through midday Wednesday, bringing light to moderate rainfall across scattered areas. At times, heavier showers could impact parts of the eastern and northern regions.

Winds will remain light to moderate but will strengthen during periods of cloud activity. By Wednesday afternoon, they are forecast to shift northwesterly, becoming fresh to strong, especially over marine areas, kicking up dust and sand in exposed regions and contributing to a noticeable drop in temperatures.

Sea conditions will also deteriorate, with the Arabian Gulf expected to turn rough to very rough at times, while the Sea of Oman may become occasionally rough.

Day-by-day outlook

  • Monday: Generally clear to partly cloudy, with increasing clouds overnight in western areas. Winds may raise dust at times, with speeds reaching up to 40 km/h.
  • Tuesday: Partly cloudy to overcast, with chances of light to moderate rain. Winds remain moderate, with occasional gusts.
  • Wednesday: Cloudy with rain in various areas and a drop in temperatures, particularly in the west. Strong winds may reduce visibility due to blowing dust.
  • Thursday: Conditions improve to clear or partly cloudy skies, with cooler temperatures. Early morning humidity may lead to fog or mist in some areas.

Authorities advise residents to stay up to date on weather alerts, especially those travelling or heading out to sea, as conditions can change rapidly during this period.
