Dubai is shaking things up with some new appointments in important government positions, announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, with approval from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
The New Appointments
DHA: Dr. Alawi Alsheikh Ali is now the new head of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). Sheikh Hamdan also thanked the previous director, Awad Seghayer Al Ketbi, for all his hard work in improving Dubai’s healthcare system.
Dubai Municipality: Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita, who was already serving temporarily, has been officially named Director General of Dubai Municipality. This shows how important the municipality is in making Dubai a greener, more sustainable, and better place to live.
Dubai Land Department: Omar Bushahab has taken over as Director General of the Dubai Land Department and Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment. Meanwhile, Mohammed Al Shehhi is the new Acting CEO of the housing establishment.
Dubai Police: There are also some new faces in Dubai Police: Major General Harib Mohammed Al Shamsi is the new Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs, and Major General Ahmed Zaal Al Muhairi will handle Administrative Affairs.
Sheikh Hamdan wished all the new leaders the best of luck and is confident they’ll keep Dubai moving forward.
