Dubai Police have impounded two vehicles and fined their drivers after they were caught performing life-threatening stunts on public roads in a bid to gain social media attention.
According to Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, the men were identified through videos that circulated widely online. In the footage, both drivers were seen climbing onto the bonnets of their moving cars to record content intended to boost their online views and popularity.

“This reckless behaviour poses a serious threat to the safety of the drivers themselves and other road users. It is a blatant violation of traffic laws and cannot be tolerated,” Brigadier Suwaidan said.
Dh50,000 fine to release impounded vehicles
Dubai Police confirmed that the vehicles involved have been impounded, and a fine of Dh50,000 must be paid for their release.
Authorities have reiterated that public roads are not stunt arenas and warned against using social media to glorify dangerous driving behaviours.
“Using social platforms to promote such acts is completely unacceptable,” Brigadier Suwaidan added.
Dubai Police maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards reckless driving, stressing that such actions will result in severe penalties, including impoundment, fines, and legal action.
